Sunday`s intermezzo: The new face of Oslo Norway, part one Aker Brygge….

165

If you travel to Norway and you like modern architecture, visit Oslo. A place you must see is Aker Brygge / Tjuvholmen.

It started there:

Old aker brygge 2

old aker brygge1

Then in the 80`s started the development of the first part called AKER BRYGGE and in the latest years the project has been extended with the second part called TJUVHOLMEN. The main old red briks building on your right side on the picture above has been rehabilitated but the rest of the area has been replaced with modern Scandinavian architecture.

Appartments, offices, hotel, art galleries, shops, restaurants, bars, sculptures, fountains, green areas, canals, the ASTRUP FEARNLEY museum, marina, cruise pier and even a little beach, quite amazing….

Take a look and enjoy…
